How It Works
Paste the Video Link
Copy the link to the video with the sound you want, from the TikTok app or your browser, and paste it above.
Check the Sound
The video page shows the name of its sound, so you can make sure it's the audio you're after.
Download the Audio
Choose Download audio to save the sound as an MP3 or M4A file.
What You Get: The Video's Sound
A TikTok video shows its sound at the bottom, and tapping it opens that sound's page in the app. That sound is what you download here.
It might be a song, or an original sound, meaning audio a creator recorded that other creators can reuse in their own videos.
TikTok stores some sounds as MP3 files and others as M4A, and you get whichever one TikTok has. Both are standard audio formats that play on phones and computers.
When the Audio Doesn't Match the Video
The file is the sound TikTok links to the video, and that isn't always exactly what you hear in the clip. When a video uses a licensed song, the downloaded sound can differ from the audio that plays in the video.
If you need the audio exactly as it plays, download the MP4 instead, since it carries the video's own soundtrack.
And if TikTok removed a sound for copyright reasons or for breaking its Community Guidelines, the video is muted and there's no sound left to save.
Using TikTok Audio
Saving a sound comes in handy when you want to identify a song, practice a dance or lip-sync, or keep an original sound you recorded yourself.
Publishing It
Reusing it is a different story. Most songs on TikTok are copyrighted, and downloading one doesn't give you permission to publish it.
Business Accounts
TikTok itself restricts music for business use: Business Accounts can only use music that's licensed for commercial use.
If you're not sure, find out who owns the audio before you use it in your own work.

Missing a feature, or something didn't work?
How do I convert TikTok to MP3?
Paste the video link in the box above and choose Download audio. You get the video's sound as an MP3, or as an M4A if that's the format TikTok has.
Why did I get an M4A file instead of an MP3?
TikTok stores some sounds as M4A, and we pass the file on as it is instead of converting it. Most phones and computers play M4A files without any extra software.
Why does the audio sound different from the video?
If the video uses a licensed song, the sound TikTok links to it can differ from what plays in the video. Download the MP4 if you need the exact soundtrack.
Can I get the sound from any video?
Yes, from any public video that has a sound. Videos from private accounts can't be opened here.
Can I use TikTok sounds in my own videos?
Inside TikTok, you can add sounds from its library to your own posts. Anywhere else, the song's copyright still applies, so get permission first.
Do I need an account or an app?
No. It all runs in your browser, and there's nothing to sign in to.
